Hitler failed and Britain won.

    Japanese planes attacked the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. They killed more than 2,300 Americans. The U.S.S. Arizona was completely destroyed. Twelve ships sank or destroyed in the attack and nine other vessels were damaged. More than 160 aircraft were destroyed and more than 150 others damaged.

    This was the Nazi plan to exterminate the Jewish people. It is unknown because this was not written in text. First, "The Night Of The Broken Glass" and boycotts, and then they started making ghettos in Poland and Jews were transferred there. When they invaded the Soviet Union the Nazi soldiers would kill entire Jewish communities. After the Wannsee conference in January, Jews were deported from all over Europe to six extermination camps. About 3 million jes were gassed in the camps.

    After the bombing of Pearl Harbor the Japanese naval fleet had won manyy battles and was very strong. The Battle Of Midway was between the USA and Japan. The Americans has ships positiones already there, and they had quick replacements of ships because of their close proximity to Hawaii. This battle is one of the most impotant of the war. Before this, the Japanese has complete contorl of the Pacific Ocean. But, after this battle the USA dominated, and the Japanese never fully recovered form it.

    The Australians and the Americans were fighting against the Japanes to take back control of the Solomon Islands. Guadalcanal was the biggest of them. The Americans fought there because it was thought that the Japanese was building an airfield there. They fought until February 1943, and the USA was successful. Both the Japanese and the Americans lost a lot but the Japanese lost over 2000 airplanes and dozens of hard to replace ships. The Americans were successful in replacing their damaged ships.

    This was the day Allied powers crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, beginning the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control during WW11. On this day, 6,000 landing ships and other vessels carrying 176,000 troops began to leave England for the trip to France. That night, 822 aircrafts filled with parachutists headed for Normandy. An additional 13,000 aircraft were mobilized to provide air cover and support for the invasion.

    This was the last major offense of the Germans in the war. This was an attempt to push the Allied front line west from northern France to northwestern Belgium. The Germans had 250,000 soldiers in the initial attack , against 80,000 Americans. They attacked at a poorly protected land, which the Allies had thought was highly unlkely to be attacked from. The Germans were successful because the Americans retreated.

It was areed the if the Soviets helped in the Pacific they would be granted conrl over Manchuria which was one of the biggest accomplishments of this conference.

    When the americans landed on Okinawa they faught against 12, 000 Japanese troops and are able to defeat some. The Japanese then have desperate change of strategy and defend the island, instead of fighting at the edge. When the soldiers land they face no deaths but at the maindland the suffer more than 50,000 casualties. The Japanese then started doing suicide raids and they quickly failed because they ran out of planes. They finally surrendered.

    On this day president Harry S Truman, ordered an atomic bomg to be released onto Hiroshima. A Japanese civilian city. The bomb was dropped by parachute and exploded 580m (1,900ft) above the ground. Between 60,000 and 80,000 people were killed instantly.
