It was the treaty that ended the first opium war between China and the British. This treaty also gave Britain Hong Kong. -

This is a time period where European nations were trying to colonize Africa for their resources and such that it had. They held a meeting to establish "rules" regarding the Scramble for Africa. -
Berlin Conference
This was the meeting where European nations discussed/negotiated their claims in African territory. This discussion lasted for a couple of months going from November to February. -
Fashoda Incident
This was a dispute between the French and the British that almost led them to a war. Each nation wanted to connect the colonials which led an intersection eventually which is what the dispute was about more or less. -
Boer War
This was a war about the British's desire to conquer/unite southern Africa. This war was fought between the British and two Boer Republics, the British eventually beat them. -
Russo - Japanese War
There was conflict between Japan and Russia over who controlled Korea and such. Japan won against Russia after about a year give or take.
