    Slavery Import Ends on the Gold Coast
    Around this time the Europeans make a law similar to the Danes. The law is to stop the slavery import to colonies. Even with this law in action it doesn't stop the slavery in Europe.
  • Invasion in Nigeria

    The British invaded Nigeria in 1861. They invaded using there weapons and superiority to intimidate the locals there. Their reason for settling there is for the palm oil. The British being there helped them economically, but they took away the peoples feeling of in-dependency and maimed them in the process.

    The gold coast is where the most gold was found so they came there making forts and colonies on the coast preparing for collecting gold. At the time the gold they collected made up 1/3 of the worlds gold.
  • Berlin Conference

    The Berlin Conference took place to organize the "Scramble for Africa" and to discuss King Leopold the 2nd's ruling. They gave King Leopold the 2nd permission to help out the rest of Europe rein over the Congo.

    For Somaliland there was a lot of war between the British and the Italians. The Italians expressed interest in forming colonies in that area. The British stalled by putting a protectorate over the British Somaliland. They used the British Camel Corps when fighting against the Italians.

    Between the 1890's and 1926 the Europeans sought out the natural goods in Africa. The resources found in Uganda was cotton, tobacco, sugarcane, and tea. The British had also converted their leader to Christianity which had brought up some issues between the British Protestant, German Protestant, French Catholic, and the Islamic Missionaries.

    The British took control over during the 1914 and cultivated the resources such as minerals, agriculture, animal hide, ivory, and cotton. They later got independence in 1977.
  • Uganda's Independencey

    It began in the early 1950's, they were thinking of becoming independent because King Metusa was getting suspicious by the British's intentions. By the 1960's at the London Conference, the British decided to let Uganda have ther own elections. This then later on in the coalition led to Uganda to independence.
  • Cameroon

    Before they invaded malaria was there keeping them from settling down until supplies to cure malaria came in so then the British invaded and took control over all of Cameroon. They were there for the costal trade and acquiring more slaves to sell.
