    Mexico struggled with disease, religious affiliations, and slavery after imperialism. Mexico is doing very well as it is one of the largest economies in Latin America and has diverse ranges of industries.

    Spain's colonization in the Philippines led to a decline of pre-existing and often prosperous economic and political centers. The Philippines today are doing well as they are constantly increasing their economy, population, and resources.
  • Indonesia

    The Dutch colonial rule caused Indonesia to be left with stripped culture, less than sufficient economy, and destroyed a sense of independence. Indonesia now has one of the highest growing economies, acquires a lot of visitors, and is slowly increasing in population.

    The British Empire's imperialism resulted in inequity, racism, and the disruption of islander culture. Australia has grown in population, economy, and tourism recently.
  • Austria

    In 1805, Napoleon dominated Austria making them give up land, power, and weaken their government exponentially. Austria is currently known for its strong economy, high standard of living, and being a popular tourist destination.
  • New Zealand

    The British rule caused New Zealand to lose traditional practices and deep cultural identity. Right now New Zealand has a stable economy, high standards for living, and has many opportunities for both locals and visitors.
  • China

    Due to imperialism China has pollution from industrialization, overpopulation, and abuse of workers. Right now in China, people in government are doing great but an average citizen might be struggling exponentially.
  • India

    The British rule impacted the Indian economy to the extent that it was never able to recover, as well as religious gaps and conflicts expanded. Recently, India has been seen as one of the fastest growing economies and is predicted to grow 6.3% in 2023.
  • Egypt

    Some lasting consequences due to imperialism were loss of culture, westernization, low level education, and absence of healthcare. Currently, Egypt's economy is suffering due to the Ukrainian war, but is still a tourist hotspot for its rich history and culture.
  • Vietnam

    The French rule depleted Vietnam's natural resources, deeply affected the minds of citizens, and rendered their leaders powerless. Vietnam has currently been on the rise as their economy is slowly growing through tourism and strong manufacturing industries.
  • Congo

    The Belgium forces imperialism resulted in the people of Congo to lose independence of labor and caused the death of many citizens due to hunger, torture, and disease. Recently Congo has been struggling with political instability and armed conflicts in certain regions, but they are working towards progress.
  • Kenya

    The British rule weakened Kenya's economy, political powers, and culture. Kenya currently has a growing economy in many sectors of professions and has made progress in education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
  • Sudan

    The Imperialism from the British and Egyptians resulted in Sudan's unbalanced government and structural economy. Currently, Sudan is rebuilding their government, making it unstable, but is also struggling within their economy and social respect.
