    A Zulu force of 25,000 makes a suprise attack on the central column who had made a camp at Isandlwana
  • Zuzu loss

    Chelmsford's force, marching to relieve Eshow, are attached at Gingindlove, Zulu losses are heavy, estimated at over 1,000 whilst the British column suffers only two deaths
  • The Berlin Conference

    14 countries were represented by a plethora of ambassadors when the conference began in Berlin. The countries represented at the time included Austria-Hungary, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden-Norway, Turkey, and the United States of America. Of these fourteen nations, France, Germany, Great Britain, and Portugal were the big players in the conference, controlling most of the colonial Africa at the time
