Boer War
Diamonds and gold were discovered in southern Africa and adventurers kept coming in to take these valuable items. The Boers tried to keep the "outsiders" from gaining political rights. The Boers blamed the British and they fought until eventually Britain finally won the war. -
Boxer Rebellion
In China from 1899 through 1901, the Boxer Rebellion took place. It opposed Western ideas because the United States, and many nations of Europe, were having too much of an influence on China.
