Civil War
The Civil War started for several reasons like slavery, state's rights, and territory expansion.They began with secession which took the country straight to war against each other.The Northern and Southern states fought for 4 years causing more than 1 million soldiers deaths.The Northern ended up winning the war after the South surrendered. Later, Abraham Lincoln decided to free all slaves in the South giving them rights to travel throughout the nation and was killed by a Southern supporter. -
Franklin Roosevelt
FDR won all of his presidential election in landslides. Historians divide his two parts. Roosevelt tried to increase the size of the Supreme Court. He sanctioned the imprisonment of Japanese-Americans. Roosevelt was the 1st sitting president to fly in a plane. -
The Prohibition of Alcohol
When the prohibition began, it was now illegal to drink alcohol during the prohibition. Some states refused to enable this prohibition. Winemakers found ways to continue making and selling alcohol in secret. Thousands of people died from drinking alcohol that was not regulated. This impacted the U.S because people could not enjoy alcohol freely. -
Great Depression
During the 1920s,the stock market was doing so good that many began to be overconfident. On October 1929 the bank systems, high-interest rates, and panic among the public due to the stock market crash caused the Great Depression. President Hoover wasn't successful bringing the nation's economy to stability.Then,President Roosevelt was elected and used the New Deal program to make the country's economy recover. This provided programs like the CCC and the WPA which helped the public's prosperity. -
World War 2
World War 2 began in 1939 and ended in 1945. The war began with German troops invaded Poland. There was 2 sides countries that were involved could be on The Allies and The Axis. During the war, German forces were advancing through Europe. This impacted the U.S because our involvement changed the rte of our economy. -
Battle of Britain
Great Britain's air force was called the RAF. The Hitler invasion plans was Operation Sea Lion. It is estimated that 1,000 British planes were shot down during the battle, and while over, 1,800 German planes were destroyed. Force despite months of targeting Britain's air bases, military posts and,ultimately its civilian population. -
Holocaust
Was a genocide, during World War 2 in which The Nazis began to murder the population of Jews in concentration camps. About 6 million Jews were murdered by labor, illness, and starvation. Those who could not work would be sent to be killed. This impacted the U.S because by the U.S stepping in, they extermination of Jewish people ended. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor

On December 28, 1942, President Roosevelt approved of the decision to create an atomic bomb to bring WWII to an end.Japan was the U.S main target after the Pearl Harbor attack they did.On August 6, 1945, the U.S dropped an atomic bomb known as " Little Boy" above Hiroshima.Japan wouldn't surrender so three days later the U.S dropped another bomb called "Fat Boy" over Nagasaki.This caused the death of 146,000 people. This made WWII come to an end and making the U.S powerful in front of the world. -

He negotiated with the Soviet Union to bring the world to peace by reducing the threat of nuclear bombs. On November 22, 1963, President Kennedy was shot in head in Dallas, Texas while being in a car with his wife. Americans were in shocked by the assassination and soon after the country's motivation decreased. -

This marked the U.S by going into combat with the terrorist group in Afghanistan. -

Most of the public believed the government should not allow others to own a gun for any reason.
