Bush’s effort on immigration reform which was intended to allow the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to gain operational control over the entire United States-Mexico border and maritime border. The Act addresses the evaluation and construction of physical barriers and advanced technology in reinforcing fencing along the southern U.S. border, and assisting in the enforcement of immigration security in specified areas.
