The blood trail leading to Washington

  • Naturalization Act

    Naturalization Act
This was the first written law to be passed that restricted citizenship to "any alien, being a free white person" that had been in the United States for two years or more. The main reason for the Naturalization Act was to have a distinct American nationality and minimize the risk of another monarchy.
  • Sanctuary City

The sanctuary city policy was first taken in by Los Angeles to stop the police forces from gaining information on immigrants status. The policy banned city employees and police officers from being able to ask people on their status.
  • Plyler v. Doe debate

    Plyler v. Doe debate
This was a debate on Texas education law that let schools refrain from teaching illegal immigrants and if this law violated the fourteenth amendment. A 5-4 majority voted that yes, even though they are not citizens and are illegal to our country, they are still people in "any ordinary sense of the therm" and therefor could not be disadvantaged. We went against our federal immigration authorities by allowing children and their families to stay in the United States even if it is for an education.
  • Ariel Castro

    Ariel Castro
Not all illegal immigrants are causing the problems. Ariel Castro was born in Puerto Rico, but his family moved them to the United States at a very young age. Castro held Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight, and Amanda's child in his home for almost a decade. He was sentenced to life in prison plus 1,000 years and pleaded guilty to 937 charges including aggravated murder, rape, and assault.
  • Angeles Moreno killed

    Angeles Moreno killed
Adolf Balbuena is an 18 year old illegal immigrant from Mexico who was driving drunk without a license, hit and killed three year old Angeles Moreno while she was waiting in line for an ice cream. If you are going to take one thing away from all of these horrific cases it should be; how many innocent Americans have to die before someone important enough dies that makes the government hurt as much as American families do?
  • President Obama prevents deportation

    President Obama prevents deportation
Obama completely ignored the Republican party and created a reform to make it easier for 4.7 million illegal immigrants to stay in our country. They were also allowed to legally work, as we wonder why so many Americans are unemployed. By the "simple" act of presidential power, a very large number of people who have no right to work or live in the United States will now be able to.
  • Kate Steinle Killing

    Kate Steinle Killing
Kate died lying in her father's arms from a gun shot wound on July 1, 2015. The man who shot her while she was on a pier with her dad has five felony convictions for illegally entering the United States and was just released from federal prison earlier that year. He was freed to the "sanctuary city" of San Francisco that restricts us from sending him back. We are keeping criminals safe in our own country after they kill our own innocent Americans.
  • Angelica Martinez Killing

    Angelica Martinez Killing
Juan Francisco De Luna Vasquez murdered his wife in Laredo, Texas with a hammer. He was deported from the United States four times and only was able to re-enter because of the easy access of illegally crossing Mexico's border.
  • Trump's plan to build a wall

Trump's plan to build a wall
Mexico uses illegal immigration for the export of crime and drugs and should therefore pay the United States back for the damage they have caused in our country. Trump’s immigration reform states that due to Mexico taking advantage of the United States border, we are going to make Mexico pay for a wall. It wouldn’t seem right to allow Mexico to continue distributing pamphlets on how to illegally enter the United States and have us not do anything about it.
