Allowed anyone that was a free white person to apply for citizenship, and was of good character and living in the united states for 2 years. -
War time measure
Act that kept any immigrant from getting a visa whos admission to the U.S. Would endanger public saftey. -
Immigration Act
Congress passed a law that put a 50 cent tax on any immigrants coming into the port. This allowed people to check the immigrants and if they weren't fit to live in the country if the were sick or hurt they were not allowed to enter. -
Real ID Act
After 9/11 Id were required by everyone, including immigrants.
