    In the year 1738, philosopher David Hume published the first and second volume of his first book, which was titled A Treatise of Human Nature. In these volumes, Hume touched on subjects like religion and human nature.   • An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding

    A book published by David Hume in 1748. The book was originally published anonymously by Hume in London as an attempt by Hume to revise and clarify on his more developed ideas from his original work, "A Treatise of Human Nature". Much of this book is a redistribution of Hume's book "A treatise of Human nature" but, in this regard, Hume focused on making his work accessible and easily understood.

    Hume publishes four essays which are collectively titled "The Four Dissertations". In these essays, Hume touches on subjects of religion as well as the fundamentals of human nature. In his first essay, Hume describes the history of religion through an analytical lens, in which he concludes that theism was a concept created by humans as a means of explaining the world around them. Using these observations, Hume argues that morals (Ethics) are a created consequence of human nature.
