It's said that this time of peace, pride, and progrees began on 1817 but it actually started in 1815 after the war of 1812. This time was created by a Bostin editor. -
Erie canal
This canal was built to help people get transportation from one place to another using water. It was helped built by immigrants who helped dug the canal. It was later finished in 1825. -
Election of 1824
In this election Jackson won the popular vote. Because none of the runner ups won enough electoral college votes the desecion was in the house of reps. In this case the house chose Jackson to win the election because he was a good person and many people liked his ideas. -
First language for the Cherokee's
After 12 years of labor Sequoya came up with the first language for his tribe. His daughter and him both practied this symbol to learn it. -
Tarrif of Abominations
The congress created the tarrif act to protect the northerners. In this case it made the southerners prices on goods go up and they weren't happy. In this case it created the Nullification Crisis that happened later on. -
Election of 1828
In this event Adams and Jackson ran against eachother for a second election. Many people liked the way Jackson ran and wanted him to be president again. So in this case Jackson won this election. -
First gold rush
In this event took place in Lumpkin county, Georgia in 1829. Much of the gold was under the Cherokee nation. -
2nd bill for bank Vetoed.
Jackson believed that the banks rules were not right and were unconstitutional. He believed that the states should have more power in banking. Many people didn't agree with his idea and were mad. -
Election of Van Burren
In this election Martin deffeated William Harrison in 1836. He was hit with the depression that Jackson left after the banks. After he got hurt from the war with idians he lost the 1840 election. -
Trail of tears
In the summer if 1838 Martin had General Winfield Scott and 7,000 solider force the idains to idain territory. Many of the idians got sick and didn't make it across the 1,200 mile trip.
