    Ian Hacking wrote 13 books, and countless articles. Over his years as a professor and philosopher he received numerous awards and contributed so much to world of the philosophy of science. Particularly in the field of mental health and human classification. He was fascinated with how as a society we had these classifications of people in which once assigned it would shape our very being just by the classification. Speaking also in terms of these classifications being created by scientists.

    On May 10, 2023, Ian Hacking passed away at a retirement home in Toronto due to Heart Failure. After retiring in 2006, Ian Hacking still contributed to philosophy and science.
