    Ian Hacking completed all his schooling at Cambridge university. He completed his BA in mathematics and physics and revived a PhD in Moral Sciences in 1962. After graduating he began lecturing in philosophy at Cambridge, Oxford, Princeton, and Stanford. Eventually landing at the University of Toronto.

    Some of Ian Hackings most popular works are: Rewriting the Soul: Multiple Personality and the Sciences of Memory, Mad Travellers: Reflections on the Reality of Transient Mental Illness, The Logic of Statistical Inference, and An Introduction to Probability and Inductive Logic. Arguably his best work was called,The Taming of Chance. In this book, Hacking dives into the history of probability. It was put into the best 100 non-fiction books of the 20th century by, The Modern Library.
