"I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You" IR Project

  • First day of Junior Year

    First day of Junior Year
Cammie, Bex, and Liz, three best friends, start their junior year at Gallagher Academy. The school syas that it's a school for geniuses, but it's really a school for spies. Bex doesn't show up for a few hours, and the girls get worried until they meet Mr. Solomon, the new Covert Operations teacher, and things start to seem like the year is going to be good for everyone.
  • New Student

    New Student
Cammie, Liz, and Bex get a new roommate named Macey. She's a very stuck-up seventh grader who probably doesn't belong at a school like the Gallagher Academy. Macey turns out to be a smart girl, who is very self-concious about her her social status. The girls are surprised when they get her as a roommate, because they are used to only having three girls in their room. I was kinda weirded out that Macey got put with the girls.
  • First Mission

    First Mission
The girls in Mr. Solomon's class, Covert Operations, go on a mission in the nearby town of Roseville. Cammie, Liz and Bex must retrieve a bottle and a carnival, and Cammie ends up meeting a guy named Josh who she ends up falling in love with. The girls advise against the crush, but things take a turn for Cammie. This part was confusing the first time I read it, so I went back and read it again.
  • Expectations vs. Reality

    Expectations vs. Reality
Cammie is called down to Mr. Solomon's office to find that he rexplains that he reality of being a spy is much more dangerous than the dreams of becoming one. Cammie sees her friends being tortured, and Mr. Solomon tells her that if she wants to be a spy, the images she's seeing is the biggest risk a spy has to take on a mission.
  • Normal Education

    Normal Education
The junior girls at the Gallagher Academy begin driver's ed, the most normal class in the entire school. Bex almost blows up the car, and Liz almost crashes it. Cammie doesn't get a turn, because they run out of time. The girls plan a mission into town for Cammie to find out more about her admirer. I thought this part was totally irrelevant, until the end of the story.
  • Report

    Report
The girls give a report on their findings about a boy that Cammie has a crush on, Josh. They make a fake persona for Cammie so that she can have a relationship with Josh without him knowing too much about her secret life at the Gallagher Academy. I was kind of interested in this part, because we find out so much more about Josh in 3 pages than we do about Cammie in an entire book.
  • Secrets Revealed

    Secrets Revealed
Macey finds out about Cammie's secret crush and begins helping the girls on Cammie's sneak outs to see him. Macey helps Cammie pick out outfits, do her makeup and tells her the lameness of things he does to try and get Cammie to make this the best realtionship she's ever had. I didn't really care for this part, because I really wanted to see Cammie's date.
  • First Date

    First Date
Cammie goes on her first date with Josh, and she tells him a bunch of lies about herself. She tells him that she's homeschooled, that she loves his favorite ice cream, she has a cat named Suzie, and that she travels all over the world and his lived in Thailand and Mongolia. She also tells him that her parents work with the Peace Corps. I nearly laughed at this part, because Cammie was making herself seem so much cooler than she actually was.
  • Movie Date

    Movie Date
Cammie goes on her second date with Josh. They go with two of his friends to see a movie. She ends up risking being found out, due to their being a career fair that same evening at her school. Cammie starts becoming friends with DeeDee, one of Josh's friends that had a crush on him for the longest time. She doesn't seem jealous of Cammie, and just tells her how she really feels. I felt a bit bad for DeeDee, even though we barely got to see her in the story.
  • Birthday Dance

    Birthday Dance
Josh takes Cammie out to a dance in Roseville on her fake birthday, which is actually her dad's birthday. Her dad has been on missions and can't come home. Cammie has to leave early due to her mother showing up with Mr. Solomon at the dance. On her way back to her room, Cammie finds her mom crying in her office later that night. This part was really sad for me, because I saw how hard it really was for Cammie's mom, who is the headmaster.
  • Spy Girls Go To Town

    Spy Girls Go To Town
The girls from Gallagher Academy go into town to do some Christmas shopping and "live a little". Cammie stole everyone's pill bottles the night before so she wouldn't be seen by either Josh or her friends. A girl from the academy gets in trouble with Dillon, Josh's other friend, and Bex stands up for her. This part gave me the chills, because Dillon was being so mean.
  • Sneaking Out

    Sneaking Out
Cammie sneaks out in the middle of the night to see Josh, and her roommates notice that she's missing. They question her about it, telling her that she should stop seeing him and break it off. Cammie comes up with four different solutions to the problem: insisting is was someone else, telling the truth, crying about how life is terrible there or eliminating Dillon. I was rooting for Cammie to get rid of Dillon because I was starting to hate him after the pharmacy incident.
  • Lies Unfold

    Lies Unfold
Dillon tells Josh that Cammie actually goes to the Gallagher Academy, and tells him that he's going to get proof. Cammie decides to tell Josh the truth, and goes out into Roseville to tell him. Josh accuses her of many things, and she has to yell at him to get him to stop. As Cammie's leaving the house, a van pulls up. I was kinda upset when I was in science and I finished the chapter, because I was left left on a cliffhanger.
  • Final Assessment

    Final Assessment
Cammie is kidnapped by teachers at her school for her final exam and must find a way out of a huge building, and Josh comes to her rescue. Cammie and her mom discuss how Josh can no longer be kept in the dark. He gets told everything and is even shown around the school. Josh and Cammie get back together. I loved the ending, because it made me want to read book 2.
