Protect the Seals Campaign
The HSUS's Protect the Seals campaign aimed to end the hunting of seals in Canada and claimed over 6,500 restauraunts and grocery stores in the Protect the Seals campaign. -
Merger
Pacelle forged a merger with The Funds for Animals in 2005, which increased revenue over the course of a couple of years, by over 50%! -
Hurricane Katrina
After Hurricane Katrina hit, people abanonded their houses and left their pets behind, the HSUS and a couple of other associations banded together to save the animals. They saved over ten thousand animals. -
Faux or Not?
In late 2006, storys of stores labeling their fur as faux when in reality it was real fur, brought the attention of the HSUS. They got the state congress to prohibit companies from labeling real fur, faux. -
Faith Outreach
The Faith Outreach program by the HSUS was launched in 2007 to raise awareness in the community at all levels. This provides speakers and videos to help people understand in the topic of animals. -
Ending Cock Fights
Pacelle met with the Louisiana Attorney General and made a law prohibiting cock fights, Louisiana was the last state to do so. -
Petland Lawsuit
On March 17, 2009, the HSUS launched a lawsuit against Petland in regards to that they sell dogs that are raised at puppymills enduring inhumane conditions. -
Egg Products Inspection Act of 2013
The HSUS is trying to get the state to pass a law mandation that chickens have an open housing system, not encaged. -
Animal Protection Laws
Throughout 2013, the HSUS helped establish 109 state animal protection laws.
