Sophie Hatter is working in her father's hat shop.
Exposition- This event happens at the beginning of the movie and is the exposition of the story introducing our first main character and an important setting. -
Sophie leaves the hat shop to see her sister.
Exposition- This part of the story is part of the exposition where we are still meeting the characters. During this scene we meet the second main character Howl who escorts Sophie to the bakery where her sister works. -
Sophie visits her sister and later returns to the hat shop.
Exposition- Once Sophie returns to the hat shop, we are introduced to one of the stories antagonists The Witch of the Waste. -
Sophie gets cursed by the witch of the waste.
Rising Action- This is the part of the story that begins sophies journey. Sophie searches for a way to break the curse. -
Sophie finds Howl's castle.
Rising Action- On sophies journey she runs into a scarecrow that leads her to Howl's castle. -
Sophie makes a deal with a fire demon.
Rising Action- After Sophie enters the Castle, she finds a place to sit by the fire and meets Calcifer the fire demon. Sophie and Calcifer talk to each other and make a deal to break each other's curses. -
Sophie stays the night at the castle.
Rising Action- Sophies stays the night at the castle and in the morning, she meets Markle, Howl's apprentice. -
Someone knocks at the door of the castle requesting for Wizard Howl.
Rising Action- Markle Howl's apprentice answers the door and receives information about the royal family requesting wizard howl to fight in the ongoing war. -
Howl returns home and cooks breakfast.
Rising Action- Howl returns home and Sophie explains that she is the new cleaning lady, and they all eat breakfast Howl notices that Sophie has been cursed by the witch of the waste who us after howl. -
Howl leaves again and returns later that night.
Rising Action- After breakfast howl leaves the castle again and returns later that night. The next morning Howl talks with Sophie asking her to pretend to be his mother to meet the queen and explain that he won't be fighting in the war. -
Sophies agrees to the plan and head to the other castle for the meeting.
Rising Action- Sophie arrives at the castle and meets the witch of the waste there. Sophie continues on to find Madame Suliman Howl's old teacher and discusses that Howl doesn't want to be apart of the war. -
The Witch of the Waste gets her powers drained.
Climax- This is the part in the story where the protagonists face their most challenging problem. While Sophie and Madame Suliman talk the Witch of the Waste gets her powers drained and is taken to Sophie. This is the part of the movie where meet a new antagonist fighting against our protagonists. -
Howl comes to take Sophie and the Witch of the Waste back to his castle
Climax- Howl comes to take Sophie back to his castle and then he moves the castle to Sophies hat shop. -
Bombs fall from the sky onto the town where the hat shop is.
Climax- Bombs fall down onto the town where the hat shop is and howl goes after them to stop them. -
Sophie breaks her curse as well as Howl's and Calcifers.
Falling Action- The problem with the curses has been resolved and the war is finally being put to an end. -
After Sophie and Howl's curses are resolved they live together in the castle.
Resolution- This is the part where the story comes to a close and the issues have been resolved. The war has ended and Sophie and Howl's cursed have been resolved as well. Both characters live happily in the castle.
