New employment opportunities should be created sa as refugees to be employed. For example, women can work by cleaning houses, as waitresses at the local restaurants or at the local women's cooperative. Men can be employed in farming or as craftsmen at local businesses. -
Ways schools can help
Schools should provide refugee children with lessons in Greek so as to understand the natives. Also, older students have to be encouraged to help them with their homework when they can. Local students should accept refugee children as their friends, invite them to their parties and ask them to join them in after school activities. Moreover, schools should organize balls or charity events and bazzars and donate second hand clothing, books or toys in order to make their new life better. -
Potential benefits for local community
Volunteerism will be increased and locals will learn how to care and act when people are in need. This will be a useful skill when they have to survive in difficult situations.
