How the Scientific Revolution lead to the Enlightenment

    Galileo
    Galileo was an astronomer. He used one of the first ever telescopes ever made to study the moon and the stars. He also added laws concerning the thought of gravity. During his life time he invented a telescope with 3x magnification. Then later a telescope with 30x magnification. He saw the moons of Jupiter and he also found out that earth could not possibly be a parabola.
  • Edward Jenner

    Edward Jenner is a very important man. He was responsible for inventing the worlds first vaccine. He used a disease from a cow called cow pox. Then found out that it can permanently keep small pox away from humans. With out Edward Jenners invention. We would not have the vaccines that we have today to save lives.
  • Isaac newton

    During the scientific revolution Isaac newton was responsible for tons of advances in science. One being the law of gravity. While newton was sitting under a tree an apple fell on his head. He then discovered gravity.
  • Nicolaus Copernicus

    Nicolaus Copernicus
    Proved many people wrong. Many people during his time thought that the earth was in the middle of the solar system. He proved this cannot be true due to how the sun reflects on the earth.
  • Gabriel Fahrenheit and Andreas Celsius

    Gabriel Fahrenheit made the first thermometer. It showed that water freezes at 32 degrees. Andreas Celsius created another scale for the thermometer. His scale showed that water freezes at 0 degrees.
  • Joseph Priestley and Antoine Lavoiser

    Joseph Priestley separated one pure gas from another. He noticed how good he felt after breathing this special air. He also watched how alert the mice were after breathing it. Antoine Lavoisier named the gas oxygen.
  • Andreas Vesalius

    Andreas Vesalius
    Vesalius dissected human corpses and published his observations. His book "On the Fabric of the Human Body." Was filled with detailed drawings of the human body.
  • Antoni Van Leeuwenhook

    Antoni Van Leeuwenhook
    Known as the father of Microbiology. Leeuwenhook made more than 500 optical lenses. He also created at least 25 single lens microscopes. He discovered Infusoria, bacteria, vacuole of a cell, spermatozoa and the banded pattern of muscular fibers. In 1687 he reported his research on the coffee bean. He sliced it the bean was pressed and an oil appeared. He boiled the coffee in rain water.
  • Francis Bacon

    He created Scientific works. Which were his ideas to reform knowledge into scientific methodology and the improvement of mankind's state using the Scientific method. He also created Religions and literary works. Which he presents his moral and philosophy and theological meditations. The last thing he created was Judicial works. His English laws are proposed.
