The purpose of this timeline to mention notable inventions and advancements that made life better.
  • Thomas Edison invented the incandescent light bulb

Thomas Edison invented the incandescent light bulb
Thomas Edison invents the incandescent light bulb which would revolutionize the lives of millions of people by allowing them to do more at night. The incandescent light bulb provided light for so many people. • Geroge Westinghouse Creates AC

    Geroge Westinghouse Creates AC
Westinghouse was responsible for making electric lighting possible on a national scale.
While Edison used DC, which could only extend 2 miles from the power source, in 1886, Westinghouse created alternating current which traveled all over the US. This invention greatly improved quality of life for millions of Americans. Westinghouse Electric Company delivers AC power to factories, farms, & homes. Anything that required power could be given power despite the proximity of the power source location

  • Tractor innovates farming

    Tractor innovates farming
The invention of the gasoline powered tractor in 1892 helped improve the quality of life for farmers by completing work in half of the time originally required. Prior to the gasoline tractor being invented, tractors could not go backwards, there was a safety issue because they were always threatening to set fire to the grain & stubble in the field. They were bulky & heavy hard to maneuver which was time consuming.Tractors would soon be popular on farms in the south due to the demand caused by WW1
