Monarchy had been used in Rome from the beginning of it in the 8th century BC until the Etruscan king was overthrown in 509 BC. The Romans had then made their own militaries, started to create their buildings, and electing a senate to make decisions for the Romans, thus creating the Roman Republic. -

The Roman republic was a governing system that had lasted around 500 years because of it's effectiveness. Assemblies consisting of rich members of Rome had formed in order to resolve issues going on in the empire. There were many issues with social classes that have existed during this time, but there were many advancements and expansions made during this time. -

During the Roman republic and empire, Rome was constantly expanding, leading for it to be more difficult to rule over. This had become a problem because Rome needed to be split into smaller areas with different rulers under the emperor, but a lot of the time there was conflict over leaders of these smaller territories. -

Dictator Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar, the first dictator of the roman republic, had turned the republic corrupt in a way due to his ideal of being a dictator for life. Eventually, he was assassinated because of his corruptness, allowing for the beginning of the Roman empire. -

The Roman republic was definitely a strong way to lead, but the ability to keep the republic running smoothly forever was finite. After around 500 years, the system was extremely corrupt, relying on money to run, and there was crime taking place all over the cities. -

The Roman empire had started once Augustus, Caesar's great-nephew, had taken over the empire after Caesar had been assassinated. While Augustus had ruled, he had changed the way of Roman life by bringing peace to Rome, reforming the financial systems, as well as continuing the expansion of the empire. He is considered one of the best emperors Rome had ever seen due to changing Rome from a republic to an empire. -

The people of Rome were always split between social classes mostly from the beginning of the Republic to the fall of the empire. The social classes had a lot of problems which in the long run had resulted in the declining of the economy at the end of the Roman empire. -

In the year 300, there were many invasions and attacks made by the barbaric people; Germanic tribes. These invasions had gone on for quite some time after this, but the Romans were always able to fight them off. -

Emperor Constantine didn't do anything to assist in the downfall of the Roman empire, but he was able to expand and change it by converting the entire empire of Rome to Christianity. This change had allowed to Roman people to realize that Christianity was what represented their values, beliefs, and culture as Roman people because the premise of Christianity is what all Roman beliefs were based on. -

The Fall of the Roman Empire
The Roman empire had fallen in the year 476 due to a lack of proper leadership, a good economy, good cross-country communication, overexpansion, and much more. The barbaric people were invading Rome, but due to improper leadership and messaging, the Roman military was not able to arrive on time to save themselves from the conquering of the barbarians.
