How Mario is going to end up in crippling debt.

    Mario was born today.
  • First Guitar

    Santa brought Mario an acoustic guitar. At the time, no one could see the direct line of poor decisions this would lead to.
  • John Entwistle Dies

    On this date John Entwistle, the bass player fom the Who, passed away. Mario heard "Pinball Wizard" on the radio that night, and instantly became a fan of the band. He would eventually see the band seven times.
  • Hired to be a guitar teacher

    Mario began working at Johnny Moratto's Music in Hazleton, PA. He was first hired to be a guitar teacher, but his role at the store quickly grew to cover inventory management, instrument repairs, and sales. He also recieved a very generous employee discount, and could now afford many more instruments. This is where the Instrument Aquisition Disorder first developed.
  • Enrolled into classes at Penn State University

    Four years of studying to be an electrical engineer begin. Mario will spend two years at the Penn State Hazleton campus before finishing up his degree at Penn State University Park.
  • The Who play at the Wacovia Center in Philadelphia, PA

    Mario along with several of his friends go to see the Who perform at the Wacovia Center in Philadelphia, PA. From this point until May 2015, any time the Who play in Pennsylvania Mario buys tickets.
  • The Who play at the Wacovia Center in Philadelphia, PA (Again)

    The Who play in Philadelphia for the second time that fall. Mario is an attendence.
  • First Miata

    Mario buys his first Mazda Miata. Eventually, he will own three, with only two ever running at the same time.
  • First Motorcycle

    Mario expands his incessant need to buy toys from guitars to include a motorcycle.
  • The Who play at the Wachovia Center (Yet Again)

    Another Who tour, another show, another $200 spent.
  • Second Miata

    Mario buys s second Mazda Miata after seeing it for sale in the Paper Shop.
  • Third Miata

    Mario buys a third Mazda Miata, this one is much nicer shape than he previous two. He is determined to keep it in nice shape, so he tries to only use it on nice days and keep it covered when he is not driving it.
  • Substitute Forms

    Mario forms the band Substitute with musicians he has known for about a decade. The band immediately begin a musical instruments arms race, with most of the members constantly trying to have to newest, most interesting instrument.
  • Begins working as a full time musician.

    After graduating from Penn State, Mario decides to try being a full time musician. This involves playing in numerous bands, teaching lessons, working at Moratto's, and moving pianos. However, no matter how much Mario worked he was perpetually broke due to his near constant buying of musical items, cars, and motorcycles.
  • Bonnaroo Music Festival

    Mario attends the Bonnaroo Music Festival outside of Manchester, TN. Among the bands playing are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ben Folds Five, and the Beach Boys. It was a fun, expensive trip.
  • The Who play Quadrophenia at the Wells Fargo Center

    The Who perform their entire "Quadrophenia" album at the Wells Fargo Center, the renamed Wachovia Center, in Philadelphia. By this point, Mario has spent roughly $1000 on Who concerts in the last six years.
  • Buys another motorcycle.

    Mario buys a Suzuki S40 Bouldvarde. He gives it a thorough test ride by bringing it home fom State College, PA.
  • Bloomsburg University

    After realizing that music was not paying the bills Mario decided to become a secondary math teacher, and enrolled in graduate courses at Bloomsburg University. More student loans were taken out.
  • Mario runs out of room for more instruments.

    Mario's Instrument Aquistion Disorder has become quite advanced. He had reached the saturation point for guitars and had switched to buying ukuleles for a few years. By this point he owned over 50 stringed instruments, not counting keyboards, percussion, and amplifiers. He has run out of space to store anything, despite having instruments in various location such as at friend's houses and at work.
  • The Who play in Miami

    Mario travels to Miami to see the Who from the front row.
  • The Who play in Atlantic City

    Mario travels to Atlantic City to see the Who for the second time in as many months. Although he is not front row this time the seats were still on the pricy side.
  • The Rolling Stones in Pittsburgh

    Pending: Mario is venturing out to Pittsburgh to see the Rolling Stones on their Zip Code tour. The seats were only $80 each, but can a graduate student really afford this?
  • Sir Paul McCartney playing in Virginia

    Another British Invasion musician, so another concert that Mario must attend. This one is in Charlottesville, VA.
  • The Foo Fighters in Camden, NJ

    Another concert, more money spent on concert tickets.
  • Paul McCartney (again)

    Sir Paul is playing in State College, so why not?
  • Brian Wilson concert at the Tropicana in Atlantic City

    Mario takes Alyssa (gf) to see Brian Wilson. For personal safety reasons he refuses to tell her anything regarding the cost of the ticket. Let just say that good seats are not cheap.
  • Ringo Starr in New Brunswick, NJ.

    Since he is going to see the Who, the Rolling Stones, and Sir Paul McCartney in the same year it only made sense to see what's left of the British Invasion and go see Ringo Starr as well.
