Homer Plessy

Louisiana

During the reconstruction Louisiana were trying to be build relationship and towns from the civil war but Rutherford B. Hayes came president and ended reconstruction and decided to have Jim crow laws.(Louisiana were doing reconstruction well). This is also were Plessy v. Ferguson happened.

Homer Plessy

Homer Plessy was a very brave man. At one point in his life he lived in Louisana were Reconstruction comes along. Then One day a president Rutherford.Hayes made Jim Crow laws to seprate people from race. Homer happened to get on a bus and the bus driver and other told him he had to sit in the black section because he was 1/8 black. Homer did not like that decision so he took it to the Supreme Court. Supreme Court did not like were that was going so didnt approve of it and JimCrowLaws continued.

Reconstruction

This is a picture representing reconstruction from the Civil War. This process took about 14 years 2 monts and 30 days. Not only did they have to rebuild the town but realationships with people and family. This process took a lot of time and patience.

14th Amendment

Homer Plessy didnt have the same equal rights as whites and thats what the 14th amendment is about Homer Plessy rights for the bus.

Rutherford B. Hayes

Aug 31, 1868

Rutherford B. Hayes was the president during reconstruction and started Jim Crow laws. He was the 19th president.

Supreme Court

This is the Supreme Court where Plessy went to confronted them about Jim Crow Laws. They did not apporove.

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks did the same thing as Homer Plessy but she wasnt 1/8 black and shes a woman. Rosa is known for refusing to give up her seat to a white man in the whites only section on the bus, She also started Montgomery Bus Boycott. Some call her the mother of the Civil Rights Movement.
