  • American Declaration of Independence

    The American declaration of Independence is when American congress signed the agreement which means America would officially be a separate county from Britain and the 13 British colonies would establish the first 13 states of the united states of America.
  • The First Fleet

    From 1788 to 1850 162000 convicts were transported from England to Australia to create a colony. British first settled in Port Jackson on the 26th of January 1788.
  • Transatlantic Slave Trade

    The transatlantic slave trade was a trade between Britain, America and Africa. The trade over its whole span transported up to 15 million Africans to America.
  • Invention of The Steam Locomotive

    George Stephenson invented the steam train which was the first vehicle that could transport tons of resources at a top speed of roughly 4 mph. He called the break through the blucher.
  • Eureka Rebellion

    The Eureka Rebellion is an event on the 3rd of December 1854. The rebellion was caused when the diggers in the Victorian mines of Australia were not given the rights to vote, lacked representation in the council and forced to pay high prices for mining licences. The workers built a stockade for their planned attack. When the British soldiers and police attacked the miners were barely armed and the battle lasted for a mere 15 minutes but 22 miners and 6 soldiers/police officers were killed.

    On the first of January 1901 Australia had federation and what it meant was that all 6 colonies of Australia would unite to govern as one. The Australian public voted on the law by referendum either yes or no and they chose yes.

    On December 17 of 1903 Wilbur and Orville Wright were testing their new invention the aeroplane. The brothers were trying to better there invention of the glider in 1902. In Kitty Hawk, North Carolina the brothers were just trying to make something that could support people and sustain flight for a period of time so they called it the flyer. The final successful product weighed around 625 pounds

    In Australia the beginning of world war was because the situation in Europe was very intense there was a French, British and Russian alliance which means that all commonwealth countries like Australia were with the British. Opposing them was the Germans, Austrian and Hungarians. What sparked the flame of world war one was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand who was a Austrian heir. Serbia was blamed for this so Russia took its side bringing Britain, France and Ireland with them.
