The Indian Removal Act is what started the Trails of Tears. Since the demand for Natives land increased and the fact that the Natives didn't want to assimilate to white culture, the act was put in place. The Natives were forced to move west where there were reservations that they had to be. -
The Trails of Tears
The Trails of Tears is a trail of death and sadness. Many Natives were forced to move from their home lands to reservations that the American President of the time set. The Natives struggled to get through this harsh trail. -
The Civil War
The Civil War was about the issues over Slavery, whenever it should stay or get ridden of. -
The Reconstruction Treaties
These reconstruction treaties were put in place after the Civil war. The treaties mainly took from the Natives since they teamed with the Confederacy and the treaties told what the Natives could and not do. -
The Dawes Act
The Dawes act was to divide the land that the Natives were forced to move on. They divided the land even more than it was and it put more reactions on the Natives, before this act they were aloud to roam within the land and sometimes outside of the reservations, but now they weren't even aloud to step on their neighbor's land. If they were to get caught they would get some very harsh punishments. -
The Oklahoma Land Rush
The Oklahoma Land Rush is were many people were going to race against each other to claim some land. This land was Natives land but that didn't matter. -
The Indian Reorganization Act
The Indian Reorganization Act is where the act aloud the Natives some control over their land but not a lot.
