  • French/Indian War

    Also known as the seven years war, this war was a war with the french and the Indians on one side and Great Britain on the other.
  • Boston Tea Party

    When GB continually oppressed us with exorbitant taxes especially on tea, we reacted. We had enough of this so we decided to go and dump all the tea from a trade ship into the ocean saying we will not cower in fear any more, we will stand up and fight.
  • Revolutionary War

    After much oppression from Great Britain, the colonies were ready to act. Even though it seemed that GB would clearly win this war, with the help of Gen. George Washington the colonies held their own and eventually defeated GB!
  • Writing of the Constitution

    With the risk of death looming about them, representatives from 12 of the 13 states held a secret meeting to create a document forming an entirely new form of government.
  • Start of Factories

    When Samuel Slater came back from Great Britain with the secrets to their spinning machines America quickly went to work creating factories for the mas production of first textiles then almost everything.
  • Lewis and Clark

    With the newly acquired Louisiana purchase, President Thomas Jefferson wanted to explore the land that he had bought. Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark on a legendary expedition to record wildlife, plants, and any other discovery they made along the way. Aided by the young Indian mother Sacajawea, Lewis and Clark succesfully completed their journey.
  • Missouri Compromise

    The Missouri Compromise was a document created to maintain the balance of slave vs free states by adding Missouri as a slave state and Main as a free state.
  • Manifest Destiny

    An idea that was spreading like wildfire during this time was the idea of "Manifest Destiny." This was the claim that it is our right to settle the American continent "from sea to shining sea."
  • Bleeding Kansas

    During the time period before the Civil war broke out we have the event called bleeding Kansas. This is when pro slavery and anti-slavery citizens start to get very violent and they kill many people.
  • Reconstruction

    After the devastating toll the Civil war had on our country, the USA needed some reconstruction which consisted of much literal rebuilding and also the rebuilding of the trust that was broken between the north and the south.
  • Civil War

    The Civil war was a long and bloody war between the North and the South of the once United States. Though the victory of the North was inevitable, the South fought intelligently and put their little numbers to good use. The North did eventually win but not without cost, Many American citizens were killed during this war.
  • Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

    after the end of the civil war, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth
