Yo-yo
Yo-yo’s are a very old toy. They were first made in 440BC. They were first made by Dunkan Yoyo. Pedro Flores was the first to make a modern yo-yo. Then Donald Duncan bought his company and ended up making 3,600 yo-yo’s a year. He was making them in the town Luck, Wisconsin and now thats called the yo-yo capital of the world. Yoyo’s were first used as weapons to kill little land animals. Another fact is that Britain called them bundalores and France called them incroyables. -

The slinky is a spring-like toy invented by Richards James. The Slinky was invented on accident. During the Vietnam War the USA used Slinkys as antenas. -

Legos are a construction toy consisting of interlocking plastic building blocks. Legos were invented in 1949 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. Three facts about legos, the world's tallest lego tower is 28.7 meters high, made with 465,000 bricks! During the Christmas season almost 28 lego sets are sold each second! On average there are 80 lego bricks for every person on Earth. -
Play doh-Jacob
We all know what play-doh is. The puddy that you can shape into whatever you want. Joseph McVicker originally invented it as a wallpaper cleaner, unil a school in Cincinnati gave it to kids as a toy to play with. The original company name was Rainbow Crafts Company inc, and only sold the colors red blue, yellow and white. Also, in 2014 there was a play-doh movie made, and it did not do very well. -
Barbie-Gwen
The toy I chose was the Barbie, a Barbie is a fashion doll made for small children to play with. The Barbie was invented by mattel but more specifically Ruth Handler. One of Barbies siblings went missing her name was Tutti and she went missing in 1971. The first career Barbie had was a teen fashion model. And of course Barbies signature color is pink. -

My toy is Etch’ A’ Sketch, it is a mechanical drawing toy. It was invented by Andre’ Cassagnes of France. Three fun facts about this toy is it is a product of France, it’s a bestseller. It was originally marketed as the “ Telecran”. It has sold 100 million units, which is crazy!!. -

My toy is Hot Wheels racing cars. Hot wheels are little racing cars that race around a track. Larry wood invented Hot Wheels. Over 6 billion hot wheels have been produced since 1968. The first Hot Wheels car was a blue Camaro and was made on May 18. -
Transformers - Gabe
Transformers are toy robots that (Usually) Transform (Hence the name TRANSFORMERS) into vehicles. The company that produces transformers is called Hasbro. I actually collect these every once and a while. Some of them cost over $200! They are still made almost 40 years later! Not all transformers turn into vehicles, there is one that even becomes a planet! -
American Girl Dolls - Mady
The American Girl Doll, a doll that represents a girl of the age of about eight, or ten. Each doll plays the part of a girl with different cultures, races and periods of time. Pleasant Rowland, the founder of the company sold her company to Mattel in 1998 for $170 million dollars. Each doll can range from $30-$140. The doll was also made in And the most interesting thing to me, the American Girl Doll is actually made in China despite the name. -
