    Involving the Bolshevik people and Vladmir Lenin, a Russian civil war ended in 1923 with Lenin's red army claiming victory and establishing the soviet union and happened because the Bolsheviks established a socialist state in the territory that was once the Russian Empire. A long and bloody civil war followed and led to the establishment of the Soviet Union and helped Communism to become a more widespread political belief, sparking communist movements across the world.

This was because of the uneasy alliance between the United States and Great Britain on the one hand and the Soviet Union on the other that started to fall apart and created a sense of mistrust, decreasing international cooperation and increasing tension. Also leading to proxy wars including the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

These events was caused by how World War II had demonstrated to the world that rocket technology would drive modern warfare, and as such the U.S. and Russia locked themselves in a race to have the most superior technology. These events also helped end the Cold War
