He set Bulls single-season records for points (3,041), field goals (1,098), free throws (833), and steals (236). This may not be the right date it was just in the 1984 season, he started to shine. -

Another thing that the Bulls are well known for is the combonation of Michael Jordan, and Scottie Pippen. He was drafted 5th in the first round. -
They get a new coach
Phil Jackson replaced Doug Collins as head coach for 1989-90. As a player Jackson had spent 13 years in the NBA, 11 of them with the Knicks. He had been named the Continental Basketball Association's Coach of the Year in 1985 -
Jordan and Pippen and The Olympics
In 1991, Pippen emerged as the Bulls' primary defensive stopper and a versatile scoring threat.medals He helped lead the Bulls to their first three NBA championships 1991, 1992 and 1993. Pippen earned 10 NBA All-Defensive Team medals. In 1992, he was named to the original Dream Team which competed in the Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. With the U.S. winning the gold medal, Pippen and Jordan were the first players to win both an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal in the same year. -
Jordan Retires
The Bulls seemed poised to go as far into the record books as Jordan would carry them, but then, prior to the opening of training camp for the 1993-94 season, Jordan dropped the bomb. He retired at age 30. -
Chicago Can Live Without Jordan
However, the 1993-94 Bulls proved there was life without Michael Jordan. Although Chicago didn't win its fourth straight championship, it posted a 55-27 record (for second place behind the Atlanta Hawks in the Central Division) and advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. -
