Democritus (400B.C.)
Democritus discovered the atom. He discovered this by his curiosity of the abilty to cut a substance so small that it woud not be possible to cut it anymore. Bennett, Linda. John Dalton
Dalton discovered that atoms of elements unite to form chemical compounds, and can't be created or destroyed in a chemical reaction, only the grouping changes. He used evidence from multiple experiments. He thought the atom looked like it was made of tiny balls arranged in individual patterns. He called his theory "Dalton's Atomic Theory."

Thompson
He discovered that the electric particles have a negative charge. to discover this he used the Cathrode Ray Tube method. Picture: "Redirect Notice." Redirect Notice. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Feb. 2015. "What Thompson Discovered." Thompson's Model. N.p., 2012. Web. 23 Feb. 2015. -
Rutherford
Rutherford discovered the nucleus of an atom. He used gold foil to discover the nucleus. "Rutherford Model of the Atom." Rutherford Model of the Atom. N.p., n.d. Web. 23 Feb. 2015. "Rutherford Model of the Atom." Rutherford Model of the Atom. N.p., n.d. Web. 23 Feb. 2015. -
Niels Bohr
Bohr discovered the features of hydrogen atoms and that electrons can only travel in certain orbits at certain distances using math models. He called his model The Bohr Model.

Erwin Schrodinger
Schrodinger discovered that electrons are waves that don't move, but carry information about where the electron probably is. He made his discovery using quantum numbers. His model is The Schrodinger Model.
