    Democritus

    Democritus
Democritus hypothesized that everything is made up of atoms. He said that if you continusously cut something in half then you would eventually get something that can no longer be halved, which is an atom. He was questioned by many of his peers, including Aristole, because he did not explain the initial cause of the motion of atoms. Coffey, Jerry. "Democritus Atom." Universe Today. N.p., 22 Mar. 2010. • Dalton

    Dalton
Dalton proposed his five parts of atomic theory ehich were all matter is comprised of atoms, all atoms of an element are identical in every way, atoms of different elements are different, atoms of different elements are different combine to form compounds, and atoms cant be created or destroyed during ordinary chemical reactions. • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford discovered that protons and electronns are not mixed and that the elcetrons orbited the protons like planets do the sun. He also discovered the nucleus of the atom. • Schrodnger

    Schrodnger
Schrödinger combined the equations for the behavior of waves with the de Broglie equation to generate a mathematical model for the distribution of electrons in an atom.
