    Democritus

    Democritus
Discovered the idea of the atom , he was the first to believe in atoms . He thought that you could not eliminate atoms . He got his theories from observations . Huffman, Carl A. "Democritus." Worldbook Advanced. N.p., n.d. Web. 20 Feb. 2015.
  • Dalton

    Dalton
He discovered atoms can be destroyed via nuclear reactions but not by chemical reactions . Dalton observed and used many different theories . DeLeon, N. "Dalton's Atomic Theory." Dalton's Atomic Theory. N.p., n.d. Web. 11 Feb. 2015.
  • Thomson

    Thomson
Thomson discovered the electron . He investigated the mysterious rays that happened when electricity passes through a vaccum . He thought the atoms had both positives and neegatives . • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford established the nuclear model. He was the first person to break up the nucleus of an atom, because of his many contributions to science he is often regarded as the father of nuclear science. He theorized that atoms are constructed like the solar system. He also believed there were negatives and positives"File:Rutherford Atomic Planetary Model.svg." - Wikimedia Commons. N.p., n.d. • Bohr

    Bohr
Bohr's theory was based on an earlier one introduced by Ernest Rutherford. He proposed that the electrons could travel only in certain successively larger orbits around the nucleus. He thought successively larger orbits around the nucleus , he thought the outer orbits could hold more electorns than he inner ones . Bohr's theory was published in 1913, it was based on an ealrier one intorduced by Ernest Rutherford. Palermo, By Elizabeth. "Niels Bohr: Biography & Atomic Theory." LiveScience. Tech
  • Schrodinger

    Schrodinger
developed a mathematical equation describing the wavelike behavior of atomic particles , today could be known as "Schrodinger equation ". He introduced this in 1926 . http://worldbookonline.com/advanced/article?id=ar495460&st=schrodinger
  • Heinsberg

    Heinsberg
developed the uncertainity principe that states a particles position and momentum cannot be accuratley determined at the same time . He belived in quantum mechanics . He introduced this in 1927 . Heinsberg formed his theory about atomic structure by studying light given off by atoms. http://worldbookonline.com/pl/infofinder/article?id=ar251380&st=heisenberg
