Aristotle BC
Aristole believed that atoms did not exist and that different things were made up from different amounts of earth, water, air, and fire. He didn't have a lab, he did his studies based off of what he knew.

Democritus BC
Democritus thought you could not cut atoms in half. He called them atomos (uncuttable) and thought that everything came from atoms.
He based his experiments on obeservations and natural curiosities. Now people tag his experiments as "Big Thoughts".
He thought that atoms came in different sizes and shapes. He thought iron atoms had hooks because they could hold things and sald atoms had spikes because of their taste. "What Democritus Thought." Democritus Model. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Feb. 2014. -
Dalton AD
Dalton thought that atoms were made of many tiny particles. To test this, he performed experiments with chemicals. He thought that tiny balls were arranged in different combinations.

Heisenberg and Schrodinger
He discoverd the Quantuam Mechanical Model. Schrodinger showed that electrons are like hyperactive flies and have a path to follow. With that, they created the electron cloud.

Thompson
Thompson discovered that atoms had electrons and that they are much smaller than atoms. The method Thompson used to make his discovery was very different. He thought the atom looked like a "blueberry muffins" (Plum Pudding Model). If you split the atom up you'd see tiny electrons like blueberries in the dough of a blueberry muffin. Rutherford
Rutherford discovered that atoms had an increase. Thompson and Rutherford discoveries were different. Thompson thought of it as a blueberry muffin, Rutherford said all positive charges come from the center of an atom. He also said everything comes from the necules of an atom. He made the Nuclear model. "GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline." GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline. N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Mar. 2014. -
Bohr
Bohr tweaked what Rutherford thought of atoms. To make his discovery, he mostly used math. He reasoned that the attractions for is electrical and the forces are much stronger than gravitational attractions. Bohr created his own model "The Bohr Model" "GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline." GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline. N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Mar. 2014. "What Bohr Discovered."
