Democritus
Democritus was the man who believed that atoms cannot be destroyed, aren't the same same size, shape, and are always moving but not visible with the naked eye. -
John Dalton
Dalton's law of gasses helped him a lot with his discovery. He realized that everything with matter whether it's a solid, gas, or liquid was made of tiny particles. He called them "Atomos" borrowing Democritus term. -
JJ Thomson
Thomson believed all matter was made up of particles smaller then atoms. He wouldn't know but later they would be called electrons. -
Ernest Rutherford
Rutherford was the worlds first successful alchemist. He also discovered the structure of the atom. Lastly, he was the the first man too split an atom -
Niels Bohr
Niels Bohr is the reason we have the Bohr model today. Bohr suggested the energy levels of electrons are hidden and that they circle in an orbit around the nucleus. -
Erwin Shroedinger
Erwin completed a full model of interacting atoms. The particles were like vibrations, only enclosed in a sphere. He helped the unstanding of the visual of the atom by the shroedinger equation.
