Alexander Graham Bell invents the telephone. -

Alexander Graham Bell was the first person to event the phone. He launched the first bi-directional electronic transmission of the spoken word. -
Candlestick
The candlestick separated into two separate pieces. One part was the mouth piece, and it formed the candlestick part. The second part was the receiver and it was placed by your ear during the phone call. -
Rotary
The rotary phone became popular in the year of 1919. This phone required you to dial the number. To dial, you would rotate the dial to the number you wanted and then you would release the number you were on. -
Push- Button
The push-button phone took the place of the rotary dial phone, that was around for decades. This type of phone allowed people to use a keypad to dial numbers and make phone calls. Each key would carry a signal to the telephone operator telling them which number you wanted to call. -
Portable Phone
Motorola was the first company to release a portable phone. The portable phone allowed you to talk on your phone anywhere in your house. This phone was no longer attached to a base station and became very popular. -
Motoralo DynaTAC
This phone was the first commercially available mobile phone. A man by the name of Martin Cooper made the first cell phone call with the Motorola DynaTAC, and he stayed on the phone for 30 minutes and it cost 3,995 dollars.
