A “sports car” is generally defined as a production vehicle designed for speed and maneuverability with a low body and seating for two. Numerous vehicles present a convincing case to earn this title. It had a modified Benz engine.

    The Prince Henry' Vauxhall was the first true sports car. It can go as fast as 80mph. The engine was of 4-cylinder monobloc design with a capacity of 3054 cc giving 40 bhp. It was a lot more powerful and definitely faster setting a standard for later sports cars.

    Ferdinand Porsche has started his own company
    Ferdinand Porsche started his car company in 1931. He designed a couple of sports cars with better engines newer designs and better cars in general. One of these cars were the Porsche 356 a sports car.

    Ferry would have a vision of a sports car he was going to call it the 356 ‘No 1’ Roadster. It was everything a spots car need to be. Smooth and low, the 356/1 set the pattern for later 356s with one fundamental difference; the engine of the production cars was moved behind the rear. It was just a prototype though.

    Japanese cars took over because they used those technologies for fuel efficiency and because of the Japanese environment movement were perfect for the US market in the 1970s. Exports to the United States surged from fewer than 200,000 in 1968 to almost two million in 1980

    Luxury cars are more for comfort with better features, equipment and performances. American luxury brands dominated with Cadillac selling over a quarter-million cars and Lincoln had its best year ever at 231,660 units. However, the market was changing with an ever greater acceptance of smaller, more efficient imported luxury brands.

They come with all sorts of electronic aids to make driving easier and more enjoyable, and they’re built to go faster and handle better than anything that’s come before. And there is more to come, cars and car parts are starting to become more advanced by the day.
