New Immigrants
During the 19th and 20th century, a huge group of poor, non speaking english, catholic and jewish immigrants came into the United States. People were afraid of these new immigrants thinking they would bring crime rates up. These new immigrants that were coming here, were in hopes of finding new life. -
Programs for children
During the 1940 specific programs for children with brain injury were becoming common. At first the few programs that were available were private and for people who had money. Good programs were rare to find to children with disabilities. Finding the needed resources back then were hard to find for the common people. -
Brown V. Board of Education was formed
The U.S. supreme court had formed a civil rights decision called Brown V. Board of Education. The law was formed in hopes of stopping the unequal segregation. The Elementary and Secondary Education act was established by congress to help with grants/funds. The funds were used to help state programs and projects for education on handicap children. Legislation
During this time legislation was introduction by congress. This helped the right to education for every child that is handicapped. With this law it helped to ensure that most schools provide resources for every student. Before this new law, congress had found that a lot of children with disabilities were not being treated equally. After they noticed these high numbers, congress knew it was time for a change. -

This law has two main purposes the first being to provide a education that meet the needs of the child. The second is how it prepares the child for the future education, employment and independent living. It was put in place to protect the rights of children with disabilities and that of the parents. -

The new Every Student Succeeds Act was signed in 2015 .The law was put in place to address the inequality of education for underprivileged children. This law was to help the disadvantaged students. With this law it also helped them get access to education programs. -
Education Law
The department of education had reported that fewer than half of the states were in compliance with the laws. Even if some states were still failing to progress forward with times, compared to how it started laws had made a huge jump in the education felid. The way it started compared to today is a huge difference. There are many resources and programs for everyone.
