    ETRUSCANS
    The Etruscans conquered Rome but the Romans resisted the Etruscans and eventually defeated them. This is the end of the monarchy and the last Etruscan king, Tarquin the Proud was desposed in 509 BC.

    REPUBLIC

    There was a COMITIA that are assemblies where Romans voted laws and elected MAGISTRATES. The leading magistrates were TWO CONSULS who were in charge of administration and the army. Also there is a SENATE which is the most important institution.
