    Marconi was awarded for his first successful radio transmission. He received a patent for radio with British Patent 12039. This patent was the first patent for radio.

    Marconi was the first one to build the first Radio factory established in 1898. It was located in the Isle of Wight, England. The factory employed around 50 people.

    Bose announced his invention of the iron mercury iron coherer with telephone detector. He presented it in a paper at Royal Society, London.
