    In 1922, WEAF aired a 10 minute advertisement for an apartment complex, becoming the first advertisement on radio ever. People could now make money using radio.

    At this point in time, anyone with the equipment and the know how, could broadcast their signal wherever they wanted, but because of crossovers, the Federal Radio Commission was created to help clean up station broadcast chaos. People now had to get a license if they wanted to broadcast radio.
