First Radio
The first radio was created by Nikola Tesla. It started the discovery of radio waves. When Guglielmo Marconi created the first radio transmissions it included 17 Tesla patents. -

Radio stations were radio instruments that use radio waves. Radio originally began as wireless telegraphy. James Clerk Maxwell, David Edward Hughes, and Heinrich Rudolf Hertz all contributed to the development of radio stations. -
Guglielmo Marconi
Marconi was an Italian Inventor who both sent and recieved the first radio signal. He created the long-distance radio transmission and radio telegraph. He also created Marconi's law. -
Audion Tube
Lee De Forest created the audion tube which was a vacuum tube that inhanced noise. It was believed that a man named Reginald Fessenden originally created the audion tube. It was a small medal plate sealed into a lamp housing. -
Amplitude Modulation
AM is the modulation of a wave varying in amplitude. It was especially used for radio broadcasting. AM was an audio signal which was combined with a carrier wave. -
Uncle Charlie
Uncle Charlie were various radio stations run by anyone. It was ran by those who could afford radio equipment. They were very large but then became a problem. -
FRC
FRC stands for Federal Radio Commision which regulated radio use in America. It was used as public interest, convience, and/or necessity. Uncle Charlies did not let them commercialize their products. -
Call Sign
It was designated for a transmitting station. Call sign was also known as call letters and call signal. They were identifiers of dates to landline railroad telegraph systems. -
Radio City Music Hall
It is an entertainment venue location in Rockefeller Center, NYC. The nickname of Radio City Music Hall is Showplace. The Radio Corporation of America was one of its first tenants. -
Frequency Modulation
FM is the encoding of information in a carrier wave by varying frequencies of waves. It frequencies become constant. Digital data can be tranferred into these waves. -
Transistor
It's a semiconductor used to amplify and switch electronic signals and power. It has at least 3 terminals for connection. It's a building block of modern electric devices. -
Gunsmoke
Gunsmoke was an American radio and television series. It was one of the most listened to in the Golden Age. It was very popular during the late 1940 and early 1960's.
