Abraham Ortelius, born in April 1527 and died 72 years later on July the 4th, 1598 noted that the coastlines of the continents seem to fit together in one piece. He said that they were once all fit together and that the countries were 'torn away' from the other continents. -
Alfred Wegener
Alfred Wegener, a German meteorologist and geophysicist proposed a theory that all the continents were all joined in one super continent called Pangea.
