He developed heliography, which was a procedure he used to create the world's oldest device of a photographic process: a print made from a photoengraved printing plate in 1825. Niepce used a product called a primitive camera in around 1826, which produced the oldest photograph; View from the Window at Le Gras.

It is a firm process; it creates an image with lots of detail on a sheet of copper plated with a thin coat of silver. The plate had to be cleaned a lot until it resembled a mirror, and sharpened until it was a yellowish rose colour.The plate then gets transferred to a camera, and once it was exposed to the light, the plate would develop over hot mercury until a picture appeared

    The Collodion process was invented
    The Collodion process is an early photographic process - it worked better than the dageurreotype and increased exposure time. It was invented by Englishman Frederick Scott Archer. In its process, a soluble iodide was added to a collodion solution and coating a glass plate with this mixture. A portable dark room was needed for this process, as the exposure to light would not develop the image properly. This took the span of fifteen minutes.
