Ancient Greece 400 B.C (Athenian People)
- All cities have there own set of laws to follow -murder, stealing, insulting, and hitting were illegal, but the idea of policemen were't invented yet, so people usually made accusations of who did that crime
- Punishments for the ones who were guitly, had too either pay a fine or to lose their legal rights. -Criminals had to be executed or exiled. Few people had to be sent to jail, but the material costs were quite high.
- If Athenians felt that Tyrants were a threat, tyrants would be exiled.

Laws of the twelve tables 450 BC
-This was the Romans first attempt to establish a code of law
- This law was made by 10 plebeian men, so that meant the audience were the plebeian's, but they were willing to share their laws with the patrician's.
-Anyone who burns down buildings for crop such as corn must be put to death burning at a stake. If this was done by accident, then they shall fix their mistake or a lighter punishment will be made if they can' t much -

The Mosaic Law 1300 BC
- The Mosaic Law foretold that if anyone who got involved in adultery, killing , bearing false witness(lying), and worshipping idols would pay the consequences being stoned to death. -The primary document of the Mosaic Law was the ten commandments -People who stole goods had to repay the person they had stolen from. This is also known as resistitution.

Code of Hammurabi 1700 B.C
-Hammurabi was a famous king who lived in Babylonia.
-He wrote the "Code of Hammurabi" in the process of codification, and was the first person who created laws
-His punishment codes followed the saying "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth". Which means to get pay back. This is also known as "Ritribution".
