The first kinetoscope parlor was opened on April 14th,1894 at 1155 Broadway, New York. It was opened by the Holland Brothers who were part of Edison's phonograph. The parlor was used so customers could pay 25 cents to watch short films through the kinetoscope. -

The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) first created the rating system for movies in America on the 1st of November, 1968. The ratings were G (general audience), PG (parental guidance), PG-13 (parents strongly cautioned), R (restricted), X (no on 17 or under allowed), which was later changed to NC-17.
