    Eadweard Muybridge accidentally discovers motion picture. After making a bet a friend on whether a horse had all four hooves off the ground at once. Muybridge took several pictures of a horse running and noticed that when looking through the photos the horse appeared to be moving.

    William Kennedy Dickson created the first motion picture camera. Dickson at the time was under the employment of Thomas Edison. In 1889 William created the first prototype kinetoscope.

    Thomas Edison creates the first film studio. The studio was named Black Maria. People could spend 25 cents to watch a short film.

    The Great Train Robbery made history by being the first silent film to have narrative. The film was made in 1903, having 14 scenes and lasting 10 minutes. The film used a innovative film techniques such as location shooting, parallel editing etc.

    The first permanent IMAX theatre is created in 1971. The theatre is created in Ontario, Canada. Cinesphere gets its name based on its dome like appearance.
