  • Eadweard Muybridge

    Eadweard Muybridge
    Eadweard Muybridge's first expiriments started in 1872. Railroad magnate Leland Stanford gave him a job to prove that all four of the horses legs are off the ground at the same time. He proved i in 1877 in California, where he used up to 24 cameras to capture the evidence. He died in 1904.
  • George Eastman

    George Eastman
    He launched the first ever Kodak camera in 1888. He created the slogan "You press the button, we do the rest". In 1889 he hired chemist, Henry Reichenbach to develop a more flexible roll of film to put into cameras.

    Emile Cohl was a French Caricaturist that had developed the first animated cartoon. He created Fantasmagorie which consisted of 20 seconds of film and 700 drawn pictures. It was released also with, "The Puppet's Nightmare" and " A Puppet Drama"

    Carl Laemmle was a pioneer in American film making and create Universal Studios. In California he opened his 230 acre studio in 1915. he later had to sell the company in 1935 due to financial reasons

    The first drive in movie theater was in Camden, New Jersey. Richard Hollingshead was a movie fan and developed it by experimenting with a Kodak projector in 1928. He then got a patent in 1933 and with a 30,000 investment he opened Park in Theaters.
