Vaudevilles were the first form of theatrical entertainment. They were preformances done on stages form the early 1860s, and if the crowd didnt like the preformance then they would have fruits thrown at them. Vaudevilles were repaced with nickelodeons in the late 1800s tho the early 1900s -
Origin of Motion Pictures
Eadweard Muybridge, created the first motion picture. It all started as a bet for $25000 to see who was right about whether or not if all 4 of the horses legs would be off te ground at any one point in time while running at full speed. He lined up several cameras snd took a sequntial photo of the horse running. -
1st Film
the oldest surviving film ever made, and the first film was created by Louis le Prince. It was titled the Roundhay Garden Scene and showed two people walking for a length of 2 seconds. this was the first film ever put together. -
Kinetoscope, First Movie Player
Tomas Edison actually ended up doing more than just creating the lightbulb. Edison created what is known as a kinetoscope, or a movie player. With this Edison attempted to make more money by makeing this movie projection only available to one person at a time. -

Aguste and Lois Lumiere were brothers who took Edisons invention of the kinetoscope and transformed it into a projectile that cold be viewed by many people all at once. With this succesful renovation of the Kinetoscope, the first movie theater was created. tier first movie filmed a train coming directly towards the viewer. -

The Great train Robbery is said to be the first film narrative film ever created. it was the first one with storyline, and proved to be an epic movie in its time. it was a 12 minute long film that everyone enjoyed in comparrison to the 3 to 8 second long films that came ahead of it. -

The first Nickelodeon occured in Pittsburg Pensylvania. Nickelodeons replaced Vaudevilles by becoming staged Preformances. The title Nickelodeons came from the fact that to see one it costed a nicklel for entry -

Edison's "success" didnt stop at just making the Kinetoscope, Edison wanted to make a lot of money so he monopolized the business. he owned the actors, the cameras, the studios, everything. Independent filmakers ran to the westcoast to get away from Edison while filming. -
