Start of Film (Horse in Motion)
The first ever 'moving picture,' was a bet. Eadweard Muybridge and his friends made a bet that a horse galloping could have four feet off the ground at the same point in time. In order to capture this, Eadweard Muybridge set up 24 cameras attached to tripwires, so when the horse ran over, they would activate. Celluloid Film
In1887, Nitrate celluloid film was invented by American clergyman Hannibal W. Goodwin. Then, in 1889, Henry Reichenbach developed durable and flexible celluloid film strips to be manufactured by George Eastman and his Eastman Company. Celluloid film if film that is made of celluloid, a plastic that is created from the previously mentioned cellulose nitrate and camphor. Unlike paper film, celluloid film was transparent and easier for early motion picture directors to use film movies. -
Start of The Movie Projector
In 1895, Louis and Auguste Lumiére finally put films on the big screen thank to their camera and projector, the Cinématographe. The Lumiére brothers invented a camera that could record, develop, and project film. This was considered the beginning of theater. -

The Motion Picture Patents Company (MPPC) was founded in December in 1908 and was used mostly to exploit film creators. It was created by Thomas Edison, who was definitely a 'villain' in the film industry. Anyways, the MPPC was terminated because of the conflicts within the industry. -

The Jazz Singer is the first ever talkie, also known as a film with sound. In the film, Bobby Gordon sings, which was nothing new, but he was also able to talk in between the songs. This was an amazing step in film history. -

The first ever pay-per-view movie system was tested in 300 Chicago households by the Zenith Radio Corporation. Families were able to send phone signals to decode movies that costed $1 each. Out of this four-week tested, 2,600 movies were ordered. -

In 1960, Alfred Hitchcock created the psychological horror-thriller film Psycho. It terrified audiences, which only caused more and more to see the movie. Due to its intense popularity, this movie became known as the mother of all modern horror suspense films. It was also the first major motion picture to show the female protagonist in the opening sequence. -

Steven Spielberg's Jaws, created in 1975, was the first modern summer blockbuster film. The movie made $100 million, which broke the box office record. Due to this, more movies began to be released during the summer, therefore creating the block buster film era. -

During the 80s, CGI began to be incorporated into more films. Popular films using this would be things like The Terminator(1984 and Android(1982). Due to a lot of popular movies using this, the 80s and onward became heavily reliant on CGI.
