  • the beginning of film

    It all began in 1890 when motion picture were invented and being establish. Because of the limits of technology the movies were in black and white.Also the movies were under one minute until 1920.

  • Kinetoscope

    Thomas Edison the creator of the Kinetoscope a very smart man.He displays the kinetoscope to the World’s Columbian Exhibition in Chicago.Also received patens for his moving camera.

  • commercial exhibition

    The first commercial exhibition of film took place April 14, at the first Kinetoscope parlor ever built. To show the world what the work that they have done.The people were very exited to see what the had.

  • French brothers

    Louis and August Lumiere patent a combination movie camera and projector.They were capable of projecting an image that can be seen by many people .Lumiere and his brother were the first to present projected, moving, photographic, pictures to a paying audience of more that one person.

  • Actors

    Actors in American started to receive credit for there roles.For the longest time they didn't get credits for there work. They dint get credit because they didn't want them to get famous

  • Warner Bros.

    In this year, one of the biggest companies involving movies was establish. This studio was responsible for many hit movies like the Harry potters films.

  • snow white

    walt disney created the first full length animated movie.They called it Snow white and the seven dwarfs.It was the beginning of something great.

  • Disney strikes again

    After the great success of Snow white Disney was allowed to create more animated features.They include movies like bambi and dumbo.

  • House Un-American Activities Committee

    The House Un-American Activities Committee investigated Hollywood. Protested by the Hollywood Ten before the committee, the hearings resulted in blacklisting actors.

  • independent producers

    The growth in independent producers and production companies, and the increase in the power of individual actors also contributed to the decline of traditional Hollywood.So many movies weren't being made.

  • Jaws/Star Wars

    the phenomenal success of the movies Jaws and Star wars led to the rise of the modern blockbuster. This led to Hollywood focusing on less movies with bigger budgets.

  • VCR

    Saw audience increasingly using VCR.The producers try to take legal action but they failed.But eventually there were able to sale them and rent them to the people.
